Job Introduction
Horton Housing Association are currently recruiting for 2 Full Time Permanent Housing Support Workers to join our established service based in Central Bradford. The annual salary for this role is £27,588.00. You will work 35 hours per week, across Monday to Friday, and you will be entitled to 6 weeks paid annual leave (plus bank holidays), as well as access to our Employee Assistance Programme.
As a Housing Support Worker you will work with the people we support, helping them to achieve their individual goals. You will work in partnership with them to devise a tailored support plan and support them in becoming tenancy ready. This may include helping them to access welfare and supporting them to attend any appointments. You will also be responsible for the welfare of the people we support, undertaking welfare checks and following safeguarding policies.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Essential:
- Be empathetic and caring, showing understanding and respect to people experiencing difficult circumstances
- Have excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to recognise the people we support as experts in their own lives
- Be resilient and adaptable with the ability to think on your feet and make sound decisions in line with our procedures
- Be observant, with the ability to identify risk and follow safeguarding policies
- Good ICT skills
- A full UK driving licence and use of a car for work purposes
- Experience of housing management including health and safety, repairs and maintenance, property checks, tenancy agreements, etc.
- An understanding of trauma informed practice
- Have an understanding of, and ability to maintain professional boundaries
- Have a commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
- Be willing to undertake any further training required
- Be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service/department
- Have willingness and ability to work in line with our Values and Behaviours
