Job Description
We are currently seeking an Independent Living Advisor to join our team in Frome, Somerset on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is committed to enhancing the independence, wellbeing, and quality of life of older people.
28 hours a week working Monday - Friday. Hours to be discussed at interview.
Reporting to the Independent Living Manager, you will play a key role in delivering effective housing management across our sheltered schemes. This will include building positive relationships with residents, supporting prospective tenants through viewings and the moving-in process, and ensuring residents fully understand their tenancy agreements, rights, and responsibilities.
You will also provide guidance to residents around accessing financial support, including housing-related benefits, and signpost or refer them to relevant services such as assistive technology, adaptations, or additional support where required. As part of your day-to-day duties, you will carry out scheme inspections, oversee health and safety compliance, and monitor contractor performance to ensure services are delivered to a high standard.
While your main base will be in Frome, flexibility to travel to other nearby schemes will be required, therefore a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential. Mileage expenses are paid at 45p per mile for business travel.

This role will be subject to a basic DBS check, funded by the organisation.

What we are looking for
- Experience supporting older people and promoting independent living
- A strong commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
- Confident communication skills, including the ability to explain complex information clearly
- Good administrative and numeracy skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Competency in Microsoft Office applications
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car
