37 hours per week, working Monday - Friday, 8am-4pm with a 12pm-8pm shift on a rota basis (1 week in 5))

Community based in Preston, Lancashire

£28,088.90 per annum

We are excited to be recruiting for an Independent Living Officer to join our Independent Living Team.

What will you be doing in this role?

As an Independent Living Officer, You will deliver housing management support services to older people both in our Independent Living properties and CGA homes. You will work closely with a number of our customers to ensure they have the best quality of life and are able to stay in their homes for as long as they can through the provision of a service which is centred around the person and their wellbeing.

You will also provide an emergency response service to our customers during weekdays, working a rota system.

What we are looking for:
  • Previous experience of working within a housing or support environment.
  • Previous experience and the ability to work with older or vulnerable people and supporting people with complex needs, including mental ill health, substance dependency and dementia.
  • Experience of dealing with challenging behaviour.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety practices and procedures.
  • Experience of lone working.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a supportive team.
  • Have a driving licence and access to a car for business use.
It would be beneficial (but not essential) if you also have:
  • CIH Housing Qualification Level 2
  • Experience of working in a social housing environment

This role is community based working in and around Preston.
