- Chair Looked After Child (LAC) review meetings in line with statutory timescales.
- Ensure care plans are outcome-focused and reflect the individual needs and wishes of each child.
- Monitor and challenge delays in permanency and placement planning.
- Assess and review key areas including education, health, placement suitability, and contact arrangements.
- Provide independent oversight to ensure best practice and escalate safeguarding concerns where necessary.
- Advocate for children's rights and access to services, ensuring their voices are central to decision-making.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with children and young people.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary professionals and agencies.
- Maintain accurate reports and records within required timeframes.
- Contribute to service improvements through constructive challenge and feedback.
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
- Strong experience within statutory children's services.
- Skilled in chairing meetings and managing multi-agency dynamics.
- Confident advocate for children and young people, with excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Highly organised, resilient, and able to manage an independent, varied workload.
- Sound knowledge of child protection legislation, care planning, and safeguarding frameworks.
