Job Title: Intensive Housing Management Worker

Job Location: CV5 - Coventry

Salary: £13.24 per hour

Contract type: Permanent

Working hours: 25 hours per week

Monday - Friday, 3 & 1/2 days a week - may be asked to participate in the out of hours rota

About the role

The role involves providing practical housing-related support to homeless offenders to help them sustain their tenancies and live independently. Key responsibilities include assisting with tenancy management, supporting rent payments and benefit claims, ensuring properties are clean and well-maintained, and working closely with support staff to identify and address residents` needs. The role also involves safeguarding responsibilities, promoting personal responsibility, and encouraging residents to maintain their accommodation and manage their finances effectively.

Please note that if you are successful in this role, we will require a DBS check to be completed. Further details will be sent following offer.

About you

We are looking for someone who has experience in housing support or working with vulnerable groups, particularly homeless individuals or offenders, knowledge of tenancy management, housing benefits, and basic property maintenance. Has a strong understanding of safeguarding practices and procedures.

Experience and feel confident in handling rent collection, monitoring arrears, and preparing related reports,familiar with benefit systems, including assisting with claims and liaising with relevant agencies.

Ability to work collaboratively with support workers and other professionals, is empathetic and non-judgmental - understands the complex needs of homeless offenders and treats them with dignity and respect.

Organised and detail-oriented - able to manage tasks like reporting, rent tracking, and void property checks efficiently.

Excellent communicator - able to clearly explain responsibilities to residents, advocate on their behalf, and work well within a team.

Problem-solver - can proactively address challenges, whether related to property issues, benefits, or resident behaviour.

Resilient and calm under pressure - able to handle challenging situations in a professional and supportive manner.

Proactive and responsible - takes initiative in maintaining housing standards and ensuring residents meet tenancy obligations.
