We have an exciting new opportunity as an M&E Manager to lead our Lincolnshire based Operational teams

You will lead our M&E function, overseeing our gas and electrical engineers and providing direct line management support to four team leaders

What is a typical week as a Mechanical & Electrical Manager?

As Mechanical & Electrical Manager you will be responsible for leading and ensuring our M&E function is delivered to our customers in line with our statutory requirements and vision and values. As you may imagine, this isn’t always easy, and requires empathy, strong effective communication skills and bags of resilience, a typical week could look as follows:

  • Review previous week’s performance reports (KPIs, compliance checks, productivity)
  • Check resource allocation for electrical and gas engineers
  • Conduct site visits for quality checks (pre- and post-inspections on repairs/installations).
  • Ensure certification paperwork (NICEIC/Gas Safe) is up to date for completed jobs.
  • Meet with commercial team to review budget performance and any subcontractor issues.
  • Lead weekly team meeting: share updates on legislation, policy changes, and service targets.
  • Address any complaints received; draft responses and agree corrective actions.
  • Carry out 1:1 meetings with two Team Leaders (monthly or six-week cycle).
  • Walk through void properties with colleagues to ensure standards are met.
  • Finalise resource planning for next week (engineer schedules, subcontractor needs).
  • Respond to urgent escalations (including out-of-hours emergencies if on call).
  • Keep communication open with engineers and Team Leaders for any operational issues.

What are we looking for?

  • First and foremost, we’re looking for someone who truly embodies our values. You’ll earn trust through openness and accountability, show respect for both customers and colleagues, and work collaboratively with partners to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Most importantly, you’ll have the empathy to step into others’ shoes, understanding situations from their perspective to deliver solutions that make a real difference.
  • It would be great if you had:
  • Gas and/or Electrical primary trade qualification – NVQ / C&G Level IlI
  • Relevant M&E qualification highlighting significant experience.
  • Sector compliance expertise.
  • Significant experience of a similar role in a similar environment that demonstrates a clear ability to carry out this role.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment where planning, organising, prioritising, and multi-taking is required.
  • Full UK driving licence.

It would be even better if you had:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a construction, maintenance or another suitable subject (or equivalent)
  • Membership of CIH, CIOB, RICS or another suitable professional institute.
  • IOSH accredited safety qualification
