Join our Neighbourhood Housing Service to manage, support and develop officers, including voluntary and sessional support. Providing leadership and advice to the enthusiastic team you'll support to resolve complex cases and ensure the services high standards are maintained.
Working within one of our local hubs, the team oversee an area of properties in respect of Tenancy Management issues, including dealing with tenant's enquiries, tenant representatives, Elected Members, other partners, and agencies. Varying your work between the estate and office you'll complete tasks and projects in an environment with easily accessible resources. Supporting local areas, you'll continuously look to improve tenant satisfaction and engagement working in our communities to provide better and safer neighbourhoods.
This is a full time, fixed term position working 37 hours per week based at our St Matthews Office.
What you'll be doing
You'll hold responsibility for premises and the efficient running of the neighbourhood housing service, along with the exciting development of the Public Realm work. Developing policies and procedures you'll attend meetings with various agencies and colleagues across the council to ensure adherence to local tenancy management processes, taking appropriate action as necessary to maintain compliance. Working with tenants, you'll aim to understand their needs and create action plans with your team to address areas of improvement. Utilising collaborated working arrangements such as tenants' forums to develop good practice throughout the service furthermore, you'll be involved in the monitoring and control of budgets and other financial resources of approximately £700k, working with staff to ensure value for money as well as delivering a cost-effective service.
What you'll need
Having experience working in social housing or a welfare sector you'll be able to manage a team to deliver an effective front-line service. Using your knowledge of social landlord functions and responsibilities you'll be able to put into practice relevant legislation and codes of practice on areas such as fire safety. Managing projects to timescale you'll be able to confidently deal with tenants and residents even in potentially difficult situations. Using this ability to empower, you'll motivate and develop your team while working in a pressurised service.
