About The Role

Are you passionate about supporting young people to thrive? As a Night Intensive Housing Worker, you'll play a vital role in delivering a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for 16 - 25 year olds in our accommodation based service.

You'll provide professional out of hours support, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents, while helping them work towards positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide housing management, welfare advice, and support to help young people sustain accommodation.
  • Ensure the safety and security of the building and its residents at all times.
  • Engage proactively with young people, offering guidance, signposting and emotional support.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of resident interactions, risk assessments and incidents.
  • Conduct room and building checks, reporting repairs and ensuring health and safety compliance.
  • Respond to emergencies and safeguarding concerns, liaising with external agencies as needed.
  • Promote customer involvement through consultation and feedback activities.
  • Manage low-level anti-social behaviour, and support young people in resolving disputes.

We have 8 full time positions available working 37 hours per week. Rolling 4 rota with 4 nights on, 3 nights off, 3 nights on and 4 nights off. They are 11 hour shifts including a break. These are Monday - Sunday roles with Bank Holidays classed as a normal working day.

We have positions available in Pool (Camborne), Redruth, St Austell, Truro and Penzance.

About The Candidate

To be successful in your application for the role of Night Intensive Housing Worker, you will have the essential skills and experience for a level 1 role (please see our candidate information pack) and the following role-specific skills and experience.

You're passionate about supporting young people and understand the challenges they face. You're confident working independently, calm under pressure, and committed to safeguarding and inclusion.

You'll bring:

  • Experience working with young people or in supported housing (paid or voluntary).
  • Understanding of issues such as homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, and safeguarding.
  • Knowledge of housing and welfare benefits.
  • Strong communication and record-keeping skills.
  • A Level 3 qualification (or willingness to work towards one) in youth work, health and social care, or a related field.
  • Desirable: Mental Health First Aid, safeguarding training, knowledge of Ofsted supported accommodation regulations.
