Your Compassion. Our Community. Independent Lives.

Every day, older people in our sheltered schemes face challenges that impact their independence. As our Livewell Housing Support Officer, you'll provide the vital support that helps them remain in their own homes, connected to their communities, and living with dignity and purpose.

This role is about building genuine connections. You'll build meaningful relationships with vulnerable residents aged 55+, developing personalised support plans that address their unique needs. For those requiring more intensive help, you'll provide up to 45 minutes of weekly assistance with tasks like benefit applications, healthcare coordination, and budgeting support.

Imagine being the key person who supports residents to maintain their independence, using your compassion and practical skills to help residents live safely and independently in their own homes -enhancing their quality of life and wellbeing.

What you'll be doing
  • You'll support residents across multiple sheltered schemes in your allocated area, focusing particularly on those who receive housing benefit
  • You'll typically begin each day at our Park House office, with your time flexibly split between wellbeing calls, customer visits, and administrative tasks throughout the day
  • You'll develop personalised support plans for vulnerable residents, providing up to 45 minutes of weekly assistance for those most in need
  • You'll coordinate with healthcare professionals, occupational therapists, and benefit advisors to ensure comprehensive support
  • You'll help customers navigate benefits, budgeting challenges, healthcare appointments, occupational therapy referrals, and care assessments
  • You'll monitor emergency situations and respond as required, ensuring appropriate assistance is provided when needed
  • You'll maintain detailed records of all interactions, managing your own calendar to ensure all documentation is completed efficiently
  • You'll support residents to maintain their independence, helping them continue living safely and comfortably in their own homes.
What you'll get in return

Beyond a salary of £19,562 and the chance to make a real difference every day, you'll get:
  • 26 days annual leave per year pro rata (plus bank holidays) rising to 29 days after 3 years
  • Your birthday off as an extra holiday
  • Up to 10% matched pension contribution
  • Flexible benefits which might include a Health Cash Plan
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Programme for your own wellbeing.
More about you

You're a people person with genuine compassion for older adults and a commitment to helping them live independently. You have experience working one-to-one with people with varying needs and understand the challenges they face.

You're organised and efficient, with the ability to manage your time effectively between office-based work and customer visits. You're comfortable maintaining accurate records and can use Microsoft Word and Excel confidently.

You work well under pressure and consistently meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail. You're resourceful in finding solutions to help vulnerable residents and can liaise effectively with multiple agencies.

A full driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle is essential for this role, as you'll be travelling to visit customers across your allocated sheltered schemes and occasionally transporting residents to appointments. Your vehicle must be insured for business use that includes carrying passengers.

Most importantly, you genuinely care about helping older people maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life.
