About the Role
The City Academy Hackney is seeking to appoint a third Premises Officer to assist with all aspects of site management in our modern academy building and its grounds. The work is varied, and comprises a wide range of duties and responsibilities, from opening and closing the Academy, to porterage, routine cleaning, maintenance and refurbishment, and minor repairs.
This full time post will be part of a team of 3 Premises Officers and a Facilities Manager. The required working hours are either 10am to 6pm or 11am to 7pm. This ensures we have coverage for the full opening hours of the school. The hours may also be ideal for candidates who have early morning responsibilities, ensuring a great work/life balance.
The post is all year round, with annual leave bookable in consultation with the Facilities Manager.
The focus of the role is to ensure that the Academy's premises are always welcoming and in fit working order so that students are able to achieve the best possible outcomes. This means delivering a high quality service that not only follows Trust policies and procedures, but complies with health and safety regulations and statutory recording requirements. Training in the use of equipment, health and safety procedures and site audits will be given, as needed.
Although previous site management experience is not essential, applicants must have a genuine interest in pursuing a career in premises management and a commitment to on-going training. Key requirements are an organised and efficient approach to work, and the ability to be punctual and meet deadlines. You must have excellent customer services skills to communicate with students, staff, visitors and contractors, and be able to keep calm and professional at all times. The ability to problem solve and use your initiative will be a key asset. Some familiarity with using computer applications is also essential.
