Organisation: Leicestershire County Council

Work Location: County Hall, Championship Way, Glenfield, Leicester, LE3 8RA

Worker Category: Fixed Location Worker

Salary: Grade 6 - £23,898 - £24,300 per annum pay award pending

Working Hours: Your standard working hours would be 37 hours Monday-Thursday 8.00am - 4.00pm, Friday 8.00am-3.30pm.

You would also be required to cover for shift Premises Officer for annual leave and sickness absence.

This could be at short notice, shift patterns below.

Shift 1 6.00am-2.00pm Monday to Thursday, 6.00am-1.30pm Friday

Shift 2 1.00pm-9pm Monday to Thursday, 1.00pm-8.30pm Friday

Contract Type: Permanent

Working as part of a friendly team, to facilitate the effective delivery of County Council services by ensuring that premises/buildings are well-maintained and secure for use by County Council staff, external clients and members of the public

About the Role

You will be responsible for, among other duties, the locking and unlocking of County Hall site, alongside undertaking minor repairs and Health and Safety checks, setting up rooms, liaising with contractors and general upkeep of the building.

Part of this role involves deputising for the Premises and Logistic team leader for absence and annual leave.

An enhanced DBS check is required for this post.

About You

To apply for this post, you must:
  • Have experience within a supervisory role
  • Relevant experience of undertaking DIY and maintenance work
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy boxes and equipment in accordance with H&S Guidelines
  • Excellent communication skills to report issues with the team
  • Willingness to attend site anytime day or night to deal with emergencies
  • Assist with the emergency evacuation of the building in the event of an incident
  • Ability to manage own and the teams workload, prioritising tasks
You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
