Parking Services are looking to recruit a full time Processing Officer to complement its existing Processing Team. The successful candidate will form part of a highly motivated and committed team dealing with the appeals to Penalty Charge Notices (parking fines) and the processing of Parking Permits.

Responsibilities / tasks

  • Provide parking advice to citizens.
  • Dealing with appeals to Penalty Charge Notices within general guidelines and making the decision to enforce or cancel a notice, and where appropriate apply discretion.
  • Preparing cases for progression through the legal process.
  • Demonstrate high quality customer care when dealing with difficult and contentious situations.
  • Approve access and waivers for contractors and suppliers in line with parking policy.
  • To process payments for both Penalty Charge Notices and Parking Permit applications.
Skills

  • Excellent customer care and team working.
  • The ability to communicate through all mediums in a concise and accurate way.
  • Good IT skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • The ability to deal with contentious situations in an assertive and diplomatic way.
  • Create positive working relationships with others.
  • Experience of working in the parking industry would be an advantage but not essential, as full training will be provided.
