We're looking for an organised and proactive Property Management Officer to oversee a portfolio of properties across the private rented sector and council-managed accommodation. You'll be responsible for managing tenancies, maintaining property standards and working closely with tenants to ensure homes are safe, well-managed and fit for purpose.
This role plays a vital part in helping the Council meet its housing duties and widen the range of quality housing options available within the Borough. If you have experience managing properties and enjoy balancing compliance, relationships and service delivery, this is a great opportunity to make a real impact.
What we're looking for
You'll have experience managing properties or tenancies within a local authority, landlord or letting agency setting, with a good understanding of housing legislation and standards. You'll be confident working with landlords and tenants, carrying out property inspections, managing rent and payments, and maintaining accurate records and databases.
You'll bring strong customer service skills, the ability to balance commercial realities with meeting housing need, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Knowledge of homelessness and housing law, the private rented sector, tenancy agreements and welfare benefits is essential, alongside strong communication, negotiation and report-writing skills.
We're looking for someone who is organised, flexible and self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team, commercially minded and committed to delivering high-quality customer care. A full driving licence is required.
