Kent Surrey Sussex Dependency & Recovery Service

An exciting opportunity has opened to take a leading role in identifying unmet need among people on probation.

As a Dependency & Recovery Coordinator and SPOC secondment into the Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS) Probation Service, you will work with Probation Practitioners and Change Grow Live Data Analyst/s to identify people on probation who have fallen through the gaps and would benefit from accessing the KSS Dependency & Recovery service.

Located within Probation offices (exact locations TBC), you will undertake probation practitioner training (delivered by HMPPS Probation Service), including on HMPPS digital platforms (e.g. OASys, NDelius). You will work across both probation and Change Grow Live's information and data management systems to identify unmet need, improve access and identify continuous improvement opportunities.

Responsibilities

About the Role:
  • Supporting people on probation through delivery of targeted and personalised drug & alcohol interventions
  • Working closely with Probation Practitioners to support wrap around support to people on probation
  • Conducting assessment, and action planning
  • Delivering motivational, evidence-based interventions and harm reduction
  • Advocating for access to relevant support and treatment pathways
  • Liaising with partners to ensure coordinated, effective support
  • Safeguarding adults in line with best practice
  • Supporting people to reintegrate socially and lead safe, healthy, and meaningful lives
  • Serving as the SPOC for all Probation Practitioners in relation to Dependency & Recovery referral enquiries
  • Serving as the SPOC for KSS Health & Justice Coordinators/teams, court and prison teams (e.g. at the point of release)
  • Maintain a performance spreadsheet capturing key delivery outputs/activities and outcomes
  • Report progress and updates to the HMPPS One Referral Hub manager (e.g. via performance spreadsheet)
  • Serving as the SPOC for Probation Practitioners in the provision of Information Advice and Guidance re: substance use pathways and thresholds (e.g. attend daily probation 'huddles', team meetings, host weekly/fortnightly 'drop-in' surgeries
  • Accessing and analysing data from both Change Grow Live and Probation Service's Information and Data Management systems (e.g. OASYS and CRiiS) to:
  • identify unmet need,
  • improve service uptake
  • identify continuous improvement opportunities
Responsibilities

About You:
  • Passionate about helping others, especially those facing complex challenges
  • Curious and skilled in navigating complex systems to improve access and outcomes for people on probation
  • Experienced in managing and analysing data, navigating multiple data systems to identify unmet need, support regional case file reviews and other data management activities
  • Experience as a SPoC, establishing and maintaining robust referral, communication and engagement pathways
  • A skilled communicator, with strong verbal, written, and IT skills
  • Organised, proactive, and confident working independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledgeable in safeguarding, confidentiality, and partnership working
  • Committed to inclusion, equity, and promoting recovery in all its forms
  • Open to learning and eager to support the development of others
  • Excel in both verbal and written communication, with proficient IT skills.
  • Demonstrate proactive qualities, working independently with excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Thrive as a supportive team player with exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with a diverse range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders.

Salary Range (pro rata if part time)
