We are now seeking a caring and experienced Recovery Coordinator to be part of a dynamic Community Substance Misuse team, supporting individuals with complex and multiple needs. The role focuses on intensive engagement and helping service users rebuild confidence, stability, and social connections. By working closely with individuals facing significant challenges, the postholder will play a key role in supporting recovery and enabling people to overcome barriers that prevent them from moving forward in their lives.
With this role you'll be working as part of Severe Multiple Disadvantage Team with Mental Health Pathways based at Sherwood Oaks Hospital.
Where: Nottinghamshire
Full Time Salary: £27,861.26 - £32,002.35 per annum (pro rata for part time hours)
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Contract Type: Fixed Term until 31st of March 2027

Responsibilities
About the Role:
- Provide unwavering support to service users from their initial contact with our service throughout their treatment and recovery journey.
- Implement tailored interventions aimed at reducing the harm caused by substance use, either through group sessions or one-on-one engagement.
- Develop and support joint working between Mental Health and Substance Misuse services, including inpatient units and Community Mental Health Teams.
- Provide case management for individuals with co-existing substance use and mental health needs.
- Monitor service users' mental health in collaboration with mental health professionals and contribute to joint care planning.
- Create and support outcome-focused recovery plans, working alongside other professionals and making referrals where appropriate.
- Deliver group interventions in both inpatient and community settings.
- Provide intensive engagement and social reintegration support to individuals with complex needs.
- Offer brief interventions, advice, and referrals to appropriate substance misuse services.
- Work closely with inpatient facilities, attending formulation and discharge meetings to support smooth transitions in care.
- Possess knowledge and experience in delivering interventions for service users affected by substance use.
- Demonstrate proactive qualities, working independently with excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
- Hold a strong understanding of mental health interventions, services, and best practices.
- Thrive as a supportive team player with exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with a diverse range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders.
- Relevant experience supporting vulnerable individuals, including those affected by substance misuse and mental health issues.
- Strong working knowledge of substance misuse and mental health.
- Experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviour, using effective de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques.
- Competence in using case management systems and maintaining accurate, timely records and data.
- Understanding of mental health interventions and recognised best practice.
- 25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays. Additionally, you'll receive one extra day of annual leave for each year of service during your first five years, therefore you will enjoy 30 days of leave after five years with us.
