The role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the asylum refugee health team to work as a senior health Nurse supporting and meeting the needs of the population within the service.
The post holder will take a lead on and provide assessment and treatment to the patient group. In addition the team continues undergoing significant development working to support asylum seekers and refugees within Glasgow city and you will have a role in contributing to the development and future service delivery whilst supporting other members of the team.
This post requires you to work as part of a Health & Social Care Partnership model within an integrated team with the asylum refugee service and as an autonomous practitioner promote, provide and coordinate care in a variety of locations. The asylum refugee health team nursing service operates an open access policy delivering care to individuals and families within homeless and asylum accommodation.
You will be a registered Adult Nurse with significant post registration physical health experience with an interest in complex needs, homelessness and Asylum; previous experience within this field would be advantageous but is not essential
You need to have a live NMC UK pin in order to be considered for this post.
All other roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

The post holder is responsible and accountable to ensure the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. These will be developed in partnership with patients, family, carers and significant others, and will be evidence based taking into consideration the lifestyle, race, gender and cultural background, and factors which impact on physical, mental or emotional health.

- Shift pattern for this post are Monday - Thursday 0900-1700, Friday 0900-1530
The post holder is responsible and accountable to ensure the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. These will be developed in partnership with patients, family, carers and significant others, and will be evidence based taking into consideration the lifestyle, race, gender and cultural background, and factors which impact on physical, mental or emotional health.
- As part of the managerial responsibility the post holder will be familiar with and ensure implementation of local, regional and national policies, procedures and guidelines pertinent to all staff within their area of responsibility in the pursuit of the highest standard of patient care.
- The post holder will have an understanding of the clinical budget and its application in the planning and implementation of care in the area, in order to meet service aims and objectives.
- Manage and provide clinical leadership and be a role model for the nursing team by representing the values and beliefs of the nursing profession as well as that of the organisation.
- The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the nursing team and will ensure that the delegation of work to the team takes account of the role, skills and competence of staff and is appropriate to their scope of practice.
- The post holder is responsible for ensuring that they and their team practice within the Legal & Ethical framework as established by Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) and National Legislation to ensure the patients' interests and wellbeing are met. ¨
- Maintain accurate up-to-date clinical records and care plans in accordance with NMC standards for records and record keeping, ensuring compliance with the Data Protection Act and the Freedom of Information Act. ¨
- As a mentor (underpinned by theoretical and experiential knowledge) the post holder will ensure that systems are in place to supervise and support both pre- and post-registration nursing students. Accommodate other multi-disciplinary and multi-agency personnel who require to gain an overview of the nursing service.
- Audit the quality of the clinical placement in partnership with Higher Education Institutions and implement any changes as required, working in collaboration with the Division's Practice Education Facilitators.
