Lead a progressive multi-disciplinary Housing Development Team in providing the development of new homes for the local authority Transforming Bristol's housing.

Bristol City Council is currently undertaking its biggest affordable housing delivery drive for decades. We are delivering the https://www.bristol.gov.uk/files/documents/9040-homes-for-bristol-inter… which is targeted to deliver over 3000 new council homes over the next 5 years.
This is additional to the affordable Homes being delivery through our Registered Provider Partners and own housing development company, Goram Homes.
What will I be doing?
You'll enjoy a variety of responsibilities leading a housing development team to support the delivery of the Council New Build Housing Programme.
Your role will focus leading a small team through the direct delivery of sites through feasibility studies, option appraisals, planning applications, detailed design, procurement, legals, construction, and acquisitions of properties from other providers and the market through to the successful handover of the homes to the client delivering the development of new council homes across the city, ensuring policies, procedures, budgets and timescales are adhered too. This will include producing regular programme and project progress reports.
You will be involved in commissioning project work to support the delivery of new affordable housing developments, helping develop policies and procedures that underpin delivery, as well as planning and leading community consultation events.
You will create and maintain strong working relationships with a range of internal and external partners including the Council's Development Management, Legal, Highways and Finance teams, other Council services; Homes West Registered Provider Partners; Housing Organisations; Homes England and community anchor organisations and will take relevant reports to senior management and the Policy committees.
What do I need to have?
If you have a passion for housing development and construction and experience of working in a project delivery environment and leading a development team, we would welcome an application from you.
Ideally, you'll have a relevant professional qualification along with the demonstrable housing development, construction, acquisition and project management experience required to successfully manage a multi-million-pound Housing Delivery programme.
You will be experienced in preparing, maintaining and updating project documentation such as business cases, development appraisals, cost benefit plans, managing large multi-million-pound budgets, risk logs and highlight reports to successfully support the Housing Development Team in the delivery of capital projects.
You will also have experience of managing a small team of technical and non-technical officers and working with external development specialists.
