Join us on the Norwich to Tilbury Enabling Works & EACN package, a key part of National Grid's Great Grid Upgrade, one of the UK's most significant energy infrastructure programmes.
The Great Grid Upgrade will help strengthen and modernise the UK's electricity network, supporting the connection of renewable energy sources and enabling a cleaner, more secure energy future. As a Senior Project Planner, you'll play a pivotal role in helping to deliver this critical infrastructure, working alongside experienced project teams to drive programme performance and successful project outcomes on a project of national importance
Role Purpose
The Senior Project Planner is accountable for developing, managing, and monitoring project programmes to ensure successful delivery. This position provides strategic and commercial insight into programme performance and facilitates the project team in achieving critical milestones.

Role Purpose

Key Responsibilities
- Direct planning, scheduling, and coordination activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain contract and construction programmes.
- Ensure all programmes align with project requirements and business plans.
- Analyse progress, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and supply chain partners to ensure effective delivery.
- Provide strategic planning input across tender, design, procurement, and construction phases.
- Monitor performance, report on progress, and escalate key issues.
- Foster team development and promote best practice in planning processes.
- Extensive expertise in project planning and programme controls.
- Experience in pre-contract planning, tendering, and construction sequencing.
- Ability to assess risks, opportunities, and commercial impacts.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate programme strategy effectively.
- Advanced proficiency in project management systems and planning tools.
- Experience working on major infrastructure, energy, utilities, rail, or complex construction projects is highly desirable.
