The vacancy
About the role:
You will lead a team that supports people (aged 18+) who are living in Porchlight's homeless hostels, sleeping rough or at risk of homelessness.
Your team will give people the practical and emotional support needed to overcome the trauma of the streets and rebuild their lives. It will be your job to ensure that they are efficient and effective at doing so.
This will involve monitoring the performance of your team, ensuring staff meet our high standards and keeping accurate records of the team's work. Regular auditing is an important part of the role. You will also be required to liaise with councils and health professionals.
The role requires:
Working pattern: 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
Contract type: Fixed Term until 31st March 2027 (with the potential to be extended - subject to funding)
Interview date: 2nd April 2026
The contract for this role runs until 31st March 2027. We hope to extend the contract if new funding is obtained, but this isn't guaranteed at the time of writing this job advert.

- Ability to use own initiative and prioritise own workload.
- Ability to work under pressure whilst still maintaining an excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with those at all levels e.g., staff, individuals we support, diplomacy to deal with persistent and difficult callers etc.
- Good communication and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to manage a budget.
- Car user with full driving licence and access to own vehicle (subject to the provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995).
