The vacancy

The role:

We're looking for a Homelessness Service Manager oversee the day-to-day delivery of our Thanet Housing Pathways service, This service provides intensive, trauma-informed support to those who have experienced homelessness and require additional support to sustain accommodation and rebuild their independence.

This is a hands-on, operational role, managing a team of frontline staff who provide practical, trauma-informed support. You'll work closely with the Area Manager to make sure the service is safe, effective, high quality, and responsive to the needs and experiences of the people we support. You will be responsible for managing and supporting your team to deliver housing-related support across Porchlight accommodation in the Thanet district.

Lead and develop a skilled team providing trauma-informed, strengths-based support to people living in our accommodation, ensuring practice meets high standards through performance monitoring, robust record-keeping and regular auditing. You will work closely with councils and health professionals to support positive outcomes.

You will need:
  • Ability to use own initiative and prioritise own workload.
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst still maintaining an excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with those at all levels e.g., staff, individuals we support, diplomacy to deal with persistent and difficult callers etc.
  • Excellent Numeracy skills
  • Excellent knowledge of IT packages, including Word, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, and the Internet

Working pattern: 37.5 hours, 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday with some flexibility required.
