Your next role

This challenging role will see you working within a team to provide Sheltered Housing services at a number of sites following recent changes to our model of service delivery.

You will share our passion by ensuring our residents receive the highest service standards.

The post holder will deliver all aspects of support from daily welfare calls, liaising with health practitioners, social care providers and families regarding residents' needs and areas of safeguarding concern. You will have the ability to make and keep accurate records and work with other professionals.

You will also manage the health and safety aspects of the buildings and liaise with contactors and repairs teams.

Key to this role is your ability to respond promptly and effectively to any emergency that may arise, such as fire alarms and residents who become unwell or require medical assistance. In adverse weather you will be required to grit footpaths and public areas.

Along with experience of working within a sheltered/supported/care environment or other housing related field, you will have a good standard of literacy and numeracy, as well as excellent communication skills. You will need knowledge of basic IT systems such as Outlook, Word and Microsoft Teams.

Most important to us however, is your strong commitment to the ethos and principles of equal opportunities and inclusion and the ability to apply this to everyday practice.

An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required.

Use of a car or the ability to travel throughout the Borough will also be required as this is non-residential and will require flexibility to cover different schemes in Swindon

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act "for the effective performance of a customer-facing role").
