Hello, we are Severn Trent, and we think water is wonderful. Oh, we're pretty keen on people too.

24 hours a day, 365 days a year we serve 4.8 million households and business across the heart of the UK. Each cuppa drank and every toilet flushed is only possible because of the 6,500 brilliant team members working across our patch.

We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality. We know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our customers and the communities where they live.

If you want to do more because you care, we'd love to talk to you. There really is something for everyone here.

Our purpose is taking care of life's essentials, but we're also big on making a difference, not just because we should but because we care.

We are looking for a Strategic Asset Manager to develop and implement a 25-year Asset Strategy for our Large Potable Water Mains and Strategic Grid. You will manage our strategic water network for the long term, ensuring we adapt and keep pace with customer needs, growth, and climate change. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team at our Coventry site.

Do you have advanced data analysis and problem-solving skills? Proven stakeholder liaison skills? A background in engineering?

If so, then read on.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Cutting straight to it, as a Strategic Asset Manager you'll:

  • Develop and implement a 25-year Asset Strategy for our large main assets and Strategic Grid to ensure we keep pace with growth and climate change.
  • Work with the Strategy and Regulation department to produce a regulatory submission, including the Business Plan for the PR29 Price Review.
  • Communicate and roll out PR24 plans to other internal stakeholders (including Senior Management) and gain buy-in for delivery.
  • Be a Technical Project Sponsor, advising developer services on our strategic network's ability to accommodate both domestic and non-domestic growth.
  • Oversee the investment plan for water networks, totalling circa £200m to £250m per annum, to ensure the project design delivers the benefits as per the business plan.
  • Ensure that the latest data, learning, and best practices are incorporated into our plans and work with innovation experts to identify exciting new opportunities.
  • Build external networks of contacts and represent the company on external groups.
Sounds like something you would like to do ?

Read on to see if you have some of the right skills needed to succeed.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE

You will need to be a strategic thinker, problem solver, with a strong grasp of water networks and hydraulics. It goes without saying you'll have excellent communication skills and demonstrate the ability to influence colleagues of all levels effectively. You will work closely with stakeholders internal and external and can work well under pressure to tight deadlines.

The ability to compile, analyse, interpret and present complex technical data sets is a must. We want someone who is both a team player as well and competent project sponsor who owns problems until resolution.

Of course, it's important that we attract the right skill sets, and those with the right experience but we value character, positivity, and a caring attitude in equal weight.

We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities.

We employ thousands of people from across our community who really care about what they do. Because that is how we do what we do.

And when it comes to inclusion, we're making sure we keep up the progress with our wonderful working groups - LGBTQ+, Women in Operations & STEM, Disability and Ethnicity, who help us do just that.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU

Working here isn't just a job. You can build a career at Severn Trent. We'll reward you for it, too. We have a range of benefits that recognise great work, and award-winning training to help you reach your potential. And we'll also help you play your part in looking after the environment and the communities where we live.

With that in mind, here are just some of our favourite's perks that you'll get being part of the Seven Trent family:

  • 28 days holiday + bank holidays (and the ability to buy/ sell up to 5 days per year)
  • Annual bonus scheme (of up to £2,250 per annum based on company performance)
  • Leading pension scheme - we will double your contribution (up to 15% when you contribute 7.5%)
  • Sharesave - the chance to buy Severn Trent Plc shares at a discounted rate
  • 10% monthly discount with Busy Bee Nurserys, and one-week free childcare
  • Dedicated training and development with our 'Academy'
  • Electric vehicle scheme and retail offers
  • Family friendly policies
  • Two volunteering days per year
