Every day, people who are homeless struggle to find and keep stable housing. As our Housing First Supported Housing Officer, you'll give the intensive hands-on support that helps them move from the streets into a safe home where they can rebuild their lives with dignity.
This job is about building trust. You'll work with up to 7 customers, making connections with people who may have been homeless for years and who often face challenges with mental health and substance use. You'll be their helper and supporter, guiding them through housing applications, benefits, setting up their new homes, and finding paths to a more stable future.

What you'll be doing
- You'll work from home, traveling to meet customers wherever they are-on the streets, in temporary housing, or in their new homes
- You'll build caring relationships with people who are likely to have been homeless for a long time. You might start with simple things like meeting for coffee to build trust
- You'll create and deliver support plans that focus on each customer's needs and strengths, helping with housing forms, benefits, healthcare, and finding funding for basic home items
- You'll provide complete support and, in some cases, may be your customers' helper for up to several years
- You'll work with partner agencies to ensure your customers get all the help they need, continuing to support them even when they face setbacks
Beyond a salary of £31,350 pro rata and the chance to make a transformational difference in people's lives, you'll get:

We're looking for someone with compassion and commitment to help people who have experienced long-term homelessness rebuild their lives.
Essential:
- Experience in housing support, social care, or community settings
- A full UK driving license and access to your own car
- Ability to build trusting relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
- Good communication skills with diverse groups of people
- Organised approach to record-keeping and casework
- Understanding of the Housing First approach
- Knowledge of mental health and addiction support needs
- Experience working with people who have experienced homelessness
- Familiarity with Microsoft programs
- Ability to use strengths-based approaches that promote independence
