Join Our Growing Team

South Cambridgeshire District Council is expanding its Housing Assets team and we’re excited to announce three new opportunities for skilled and motivated individuals to join us as Surveyors – Energy and Stock Condition.

These roles are central to improving the quality, safety, and energy efficiency of our housing stock. You’ll be part of a dynamic team delivering essential surveying services, including Stock Condition Surveys, Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), and Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) assessments.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Conduct EPCs, HHSRS assessments, and full stock condition surveys.
  • Inspect void properties and diagnose repairs.
  • Administer repair orders and ensure high standards of delivery.
  • Liaise with tenants, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Maintain compliance with statutory regulations and council policies.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for three individuals who are:

  • DEA qualified to SAP 10 methodology (C&G6361 or equivalent), ideally accredited with Elmhurst.
  • Hold a Certificate of Competence in applying the HHSRS.
  • Experienced in building maintenance, energy efficiency, and housing surveys.
  • Skilled in using housing management systems and mobile platforms.
  • Strong communicators with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively, with a customer-focused approach.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • HNC/HND in Building Studies or equivalent.
  • Membership of CIOB or RICS.
  • Experience working in housing maintenance and with tenants/leaseholders.
  • Knowledge of housing law and policies.

Other Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
