Job Description

This position is only open to Internal Applicants at Brent Council.

Salary range: £49,083 - £52,116 p.a. inc. London weighting
Contract: Permanent
Hours of work: 36 hours per week
Location: Civic centre and other locations from time to time

The Post

At Brent, we have an established specialist service to assist families and pregnant people facing homelessness. This is a fast paced and dynamic service.

You will manage a frontline service and a team of officers responsible for delivering high quality service to families, some of which may have complex needs. Your team will manage a caseload and determine options suitable for applicants whilst managing service user expectation.

You will lead and provide support and guidance to officers, ensuring that duties under homelessness legislation are fulfilled.

You will develop your team to work flexibly with applicants as we recognise that no two households are the same.

The Person

You must be able to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and understanding of homelessness legislation and case law, coupled with hands on experience of preventing homelessness and making statutory decisions.

You will have a thorough understanding of prevention options, extensive experience of preventing homelessness successfully with excellent negotiation skills. You will be experienced in people management and leading a team to successful outcomes.

A people focussed person, you will be passionate about customer service and take pride in delivering an excellent service. You will be highly motivated, passionate, ambitious, able to motivate your team and ready for a new challenge.
