The Vacancy
We have an exciting opportunity within Housing Advice for two Temporary Accommodation Officer to join our team.
This role is central to ensuring that households placed in temporary accommodation receive the right support at the right time, while helping us to manage and maintain the council's accommodation portfolio effectively. You will provide an intensive housing management service, working directly with individuals and families to ensure their accommodation is safe, well-maintained, and a stepping stone towards permanent housing.
As a Temporary Accommodation Officer, you will be the key contact for residents, building positive relationships and helping them to understand their responsibilities as tenants. You will liaise with landlords, managing agents, hoteliers, and colleagues across the council to make sure accommodation standards are met and that residents are supported to access benefits, advice, and wider services.

This means not only ensuring that everyone has access to a safe place to live, but also working with partners to deliver early interventions, prevent repeat homelessness, and help people move on into settled accommodation as quickly as possible.
