Do you want a frontline housing role where you can make a real difference to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness?
We're looking for Temporary Accommodation Officers to manage and support households living in emergency and temporary accommodation. You'll work directly with residents, landlords and support services to keep accommodation safe, well-managed and to help people move on to longer-term housing.
This is a busy, hands-on role where no two days are the same.

We're looking for Temporary Accommodation Officers to manage and support households living in emergency and temporary accommodation. You'll work directly with residents, landlords and support services to keep accommodation safe, well-managed and to help people move on to longer-term housing.

What you'll be doing
As a Temporary Accommodation Officer, you will:
- Manage a caseload of households placed in emergency and temporary accommodation
- Visit properties and carry out regular occupancy and property checks
- Work with landlords and accommodation providers to ensure repairs and safety standards are met
- Follow up disrepair issues and escalate concerns where standards are not met
- Manage tenancy issues, including breaches and anti-social behaviour, and take appropriate action
- Support residents to understand their tenancy conditions and responsibilities
- Provide advice on rent, service charges and housing benefit issues
- Work with internal teams and partner agencies to support tenancy sustainment and move-on
- Support vulnerable households, including families and care leavers, working closely with Children's Services and Adult Social Care
- Minimise voids by supporting handbacks and bringing properties back into use quickly
- Have experience working in housing, homelessness, supported housing or a similar frontline service
- Understand homelessness duties and tenancy management
- Are confident working with people who may be distressed or vulnerable
- Can manage a busy caseload and prioritise urgent issues
- Are organised and able to follow processes and procedures
- Communicate clearly with residents, landlords and colleagues
- Can handle challenging behaviour calmly and professionally
- Have basic IT skills and can keep accurate records
