Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire - (The role will be based in Scarborough but there will also be a requirement to provide support to manage temporary accommodation placements in the Malton and Selby localities).

We are looking for a Temporary Accommodation Officer to join our Housing Needs Service to provide a management role around council owned temporary accommodation.
The role:
As a Temporary Accommodation Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the council's temporary accommodation for homeless households. You will ensure all relevant paperwork is completed at sign up, fully explaining the conditions of occupancy to the resident and will be responsible for organising the collection of temporary accommodation charges from residents in the council's temporary accommodation.
You will also ensure breaches of licence conditions within temporary accommodation are resolved promptly and satisfactorily in accordance with the council's policies and procedures, recommending possession action to the Team leaders where all other solutions have failed. If necessary, you would also be expected to undertake evictions in line with North Yorkshire Council policy. You will also carry out housing management functions for the temporary accommodation, arranging the inspection of void properties from vacation, arranging clearance, gas and electrical safety checks, repairs and re-letting, to ensure void periods and income loss are minimised.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
