Cardiff Council aims to provide a high quality, accessible service. We currently have a vacancy for a Tenancy Officer (temporary).

About the job

The successful applicants will work proactively to ensure that tenants and leaseholders comply with their tenancy or lease conditions, providing advice and guidance to tenants and leaseholders and where necessary take enforcement action.

What We Are Looking For From You

You will need to have good communication and customer care skills and will be able to deal with disputes in a positive and constructive manner. You should also have the ability to work as part of a team, and able to follow complex procedures.
Knowledge of housing law and experience of enforcing tenancy and/or leasehold conditions by legal action would be an advantage but are not essential.

Additional information

This post is temporary until 17th May 2026 to cover the maternity leave of the substantive post-holder.

Internal candidates who wish to apply for this position on a secondment basis must obtain approval prior to application using Form SEC1 (4.C.081). Requests may only be approved by the relevant Director/ Assistant Director/ Chief Officer or senior nominated officer graded no lower than OM2 or in the case of schools based staff the Headteacher / Governing Body.

This vacancy is suitable for post share.
