Housing Support Worker (Nights)

Support Worker Salary: (full time) Starting salary £25,715, rising to £27,025 after 12 months and rising to £27,955 after a further 12 months. Pro rata This role requires a full driving licence and access to a roadworthy vehicle Rotherham and south Yorkshire Main Purpose To provide high quality housing and support services to residents in order to assist them to sustain their tenancies. Specific tasks <ul><li>Assist residents when moving in, or out of Target accommodation. </li></ul><ul><li>Assess the circumstances, aspirations and needs of each resident in order to make a support plan that is relevant to the resident and realistic in its achievement.</li></ul><ul><li>Act as residents' keyworker offering advice and support to negotiated and agreed support planning to enable them to develop their skills for independent living.</li></ul><ul><li>Assist residents to maximise their income and to manage their personal budgets.</li></ul><ul><li>Support residents to understand their rights and responsibilities under their occupancy agreements.</li></ul><ul><li>Support and motivation to residents encouraging them to achieve personal goals.</li></ul><ul><li>Carry out regular resident risk assessment and ensure it is properly recorded and copied to relevant officers in the organisation.</li></ul><ul><li>Review support plans periodically and adapt them according to changing needs</li></ul><ul><li>Make sure residents pay the rent due to Target Housing as required by the occupancy agreement. Housing Support Worker AST

You will be responsible for delivering a sustainable, supportive, and effective end-to-end housing support service to a diverse range of Octavia residents, helping to achieve Octavia's wider vision. Working closely with the Housing Support team, this hands-on role involves a variety of tasks including home visits, property inspections, resident liaison via email and phone, assessments, and attending contractor site visits. A key part of the role is building strong internal and external partnerships to ensure residents live in homes that meet their needs, with effective coordination between residents, departments, and external agencies to ensure timely completion of works. You will actively manage and coordinate the utilisation of adapted properties and oversee the adaptations programme, ensuring delivery within agreed KPIs and to Local Authority standards. The role also includes managing and developing contracts to demonstrate value for money, improving service delivery, and handling complaints through to satisfactory customer resolution. A good understanding of property maintenance, building standards, and contract management is essential, as well as ensuring that adaptation, handyperson, and gardening cases are completed to a high standard.
