The job itself Are you a qualified Social Worker with 5 years post qualifying social work experience working with children and families? Do you want to apply all of your experience and knowledge through working with our children who are looked after by East Riding of Yorkshire council? Then we want you to join our Independent Reviewing Service as an Independent Reviewing Officer. We are currently recruiting for a full-time permanent IRO to join a team of 5.5 colleagues in a service based out of County Hall, Beverley. We work with our children who are 'looked after' including those children receiving short break provisions and our privately fostered children in the community overseeing their care plans. The service works closely with the children, their families, partner agencies, foster carers, children's social care colleagues and the child's extended network to review and monitor care planning for our children and young people. The IRO role reports directly to the Independent Safeguarding &amp; Reviewing Area Manager (IRO &amp; IFCRO) and will include key responsibilities; <ol><li> Chairing Review Meetings: IROs chair regular review meetings to assess and monitor the care plans for looked-after children .</li><li> Quality Assurance: They ensure that the care plans are effective and meet the child's needs, taking into account the child's wishes and feelings .</li><li> Monitoring Care: IROs monitor the implementation of the care plan, ensuring that decisions made during reviews are acted upon .</li><li> Advocacy: They advocate for the child's rights and well-being, ensuring that the child is informed about their rights and can voice their concerns .</li><li> Independence: IROs work independently from the child's social worker to provide an unbiased perspective on the child's care .</li></ol> The IRO role is vital in ensuring that the care provided to our children who are looked-after is of high quality and that their voices are heard in the decision-making process. Independent Reviewing Officer

The job itself We currently have an opportunity to join the east area housing team as a part time Housing Management Officer. Do you like working with people? And enjoy a challenge? You will be joining a well-established supportive team, in a varied role, where no two days are the same. This role is predominantly based in the Beverley Council offices; however, the council has adopted blended working and as a team we are happy to work in the office and at home, its also expected that the majority of your time will be spent out on patch visiting residents and applicants in their homes. This post will be working 18.5 hours across Monday - Friday. The post holder will be responsible for the management of properties in a specifically defined geographical area. The role includes the allocation of properties in line with the Council's allocation policy as well as general estate and tenancy management and the delivery of housing options advice. The successful candidate will be expected to deal with all aspects of tenancy management including dealing with anti-social behaviour in relation to the properties owned and managed by the Council. This will include assessing vulnerability and linking in with multi agency teams to resolve issues, and taken enforcement action when necessary. The successful candidate will also be expected to engage with residents on their patch, to arrange estate walkabouts, attend residents' meetings and encourage feedback to improve the service delivered to our residents. Good oral, written skills and IT are essential as is the ability to work under pressure. The post holder should, following the requisite training, demonstrate the ability to work well as part of a team as well as the ability to work independently. It is essential that the post holder can demonstrate that they have experience in a front line role and have knowledge of housing related issues and experience in similarly related role. The post holder must hold a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
