Job Overview: This role will be operating in the areas of Mansfield, and Nottingham, with travel to surrounding areas. Working to support our CAS3 contract with the Ministry of Justice, this role involves managing a number of self-contained and small shared accommodation properties within the region. In addition to providing proactive property management, the role involves engaging with residents (People On Probation) who may have complex needs/multiple disadvantage, on release from prison, CAS1 or CAS2, with the goal of ensuring a smooth transition into the allocated accommodation. The role does include an element of supervision to ensure 'house rules' and license agreements are being adhered to, along with offering housing related, 'light touch' support and signposting where needed. While you will be part of a small regional team and a larger business, this is predominantly a lone working role and you will need to be comfortable driving between locations. Responsibilities and Duties: Managing a number of properties specifically allocated to the MOJ. You will engage with individuals with complex needs and will be able to work without supervision and have experience of lone working. This is an exciting position that works exclusively to support Asylum seekers going through their right to work Asylum application process with the home office. The ideal candidate will be resilient, trustworthy, caring, a people person and extremely empathetic to others. As a Housing Support Officer every day is different, no day is the same. Although this role comes with it challenges it is an extremely rewarding role. As a Housing Support Officer your main duties will include but not limited to ensuring service users are supported at various stages of their Asylum application process including any safeguarding and welfare issues you come across, providing practical and emotional support to service users, monitoring service users' wellbeing and support needs and ensuring all records are updated and accurate for home office audit purposes. It is essential to maintain boundaries and being resilient to ensure a professional and a well-defined service is provided to always meet the needs of the service users. Over the past 30 years we have shown that stable accommodation and support can help transform lives. We work in a psychologically and trauma informed way to empower people to achieve independence. Target delivers the highest standard of housing and support to enable vulnerable people to live independently, fulfil their potential and contribute to their communities and wider society. In a typical week... You will have an allocated caseload of tenants who you will support for the agreed contractual hours within their tenancies with the aim of supporting them to eventually move onto independent living. We take a multi-agency approach to ensure the most comprehensive amount of support is provided for the tenants needs. The South Yorkshire AST project operates across Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham and you may be required to work in one, or potentially, across all of these areas. JOB DESCRIPTION Main Purpose To provide high quality housing and support services to residents in order to assist them to sustain their tenancies.
