Emmaus UK is looking for a new Federation Development Lead to help lead on our ambition to become a best practice national body for supported housing.<h2>About the role</h2>It’s an exciting and important time for our charity as we work to help more people out of homelessness and poverty as part of an ambitious strategy. The newly created role of Federation Development Lead will sit within the Partnerships and Federation Development directorate, to support the delivery of key charity and federation-wide objectives.The principal responsibility will be to support our ambition to become a best practice national body, responsible for leading on and supporting the development of key projects within Emmaus UK and the wider federation. This will include providing leadership to support Emmaus communities across the UK to prepare and respond to the introduction of the Supported Housing (Regulatory Oversight) Act.The role will also provide a critical role in the implementation and delivery of Emmaus UK’s ambitious plans to seek registration as a provider of social housing. What You'll Do <ul><li>Conduct resident sign-ups, ensuring occupancy agreements, keys, and Resident Handbooks are issued and explained clearly.</li><li>Ensure residents understand their occupancy terms and security of tenure based on their agreement type.</li><li>Use current toolkits, processes, and documentation; ensure outdated materials are discarded.</li><li>Support residents with Housing Benefit and/or Universal Credit claims at sign-up and throughout their tenancy.</li><li>Advise on and assist with property adaptations where applicable.</li><li>Promote available properties and raise awareness of Waythrough Homes services across your area.</li><li>Provide advice on rent arrears and support residents in managing and reducing debts.</li><li>Address anti-social behaviour, serve notices, manage abandonment cases, and attend court hearings as required.</li><li>Offer guidance on resettlement and permanent move-on housing options.</li><li>Raise safeguarding concerns with your line manager and consult the housing safeguarding lead.</li><li>Provide tenancy sustainment support or make appropriate referrals for additional support.</li><li>Organise and facilitate resident meetings in shared housing/HMOs.</li><li>Support residents in shared housing/HMOs to establish cleaning, gardening, and other communal rotas.</li></ul>To Succeed in This Role, You'll Need: Essential: <ul><li>Minimum of 2 years' experience or a good understanding of working with people affected by homelessness / substance misuse/offending behaviour/mental health, Learning Disabilities.</li></ul>Desirable: <ul><li>Knowledge of Housing Law relevant to landlord and tenant.</li><li>Knowledge of the 'Decent Homes Standards' and the 'Housing Health and Safety Rating System'</li></ul>To view the full job description and person specification, please click here.
