The role will focus on developing better systems across housing and children's social care to achieve systemic change which maintains improved outcomes for care leavers. This will include creating multi-agency meetings / forums, scrutiny of data to understand our child in care population and future accommodation commissioning needs, understanding the holistic needs of children approaching 18, championing them within the accommodation pathway, creating systems to prioritise the right young people for in demand accommodation, quality assurance of practice around care leaver accommodation and homelessness, and full review and implementation of the Joint Housing Protocol for Care Leavers. You will work alongside commissioners to lead on our innovative project to house care leavers in shared supported housing, matching young people to the accommodation and holding risk management / provider meetings as required. The role will be managed within the Youth Homelessness Prevention Project team, working across both City Hall and B-Bond offices, to achieve the balance between strategic and operational work that the post requires. We are looking for someone who can successfully bring stakeholders together to improve accommodation transitions for young people leaving care. You will be able to confidently act as a champion for best outcomes for care leavers in relation to accommodation and will be able to lead challenging negotiations with a range of partners across differing priorities, including developing and delivering training and briefing sessions across a multi-agency workforce. St Andrews Court is a supported housing service for people aged 18 years and above who are living with a mental illness and have low-level needs. It consists of eight self-contained flats with limited courtyard parking and communal garden. The service provides housing related support to people who are at risk of not accessing or sustaining a home because of their mental health, vulnerability and/ or a history of housing related problems. People can stay in the service for up to two years. The aim is to move people on to lead more independent lives in their own accommodation. If residents require additional support that isn't housing related they will be signposted to appropriate services. How I will make a difference? Working with an allocation of tenants, you will provide a robust intensive housing management service, supporting vulnerable individuals who experience mental ill health in promoting independence and empowering sustainment of tenancies. You will be required to assess the needs and risks of tenants and work in a person centred and personalised manner in order to enable individuals to sustain their tenancy. Independent Living Support Worker

About The Role The Housing Management Officer will provide general administrative support to the Management team to include financial transactions, invoicing, stock control and ordering supplies, working with all relevant teams to ensure the delivery of a customer focused service to Salvation Army Homes customers.
