Homelessness Prevention Officer (Rough Sleeping)

Within Calderdale the Housing Options Service assist members of the public to identify a wide range of tenancy and other housing issues and provide advice and support to residents to remain in their home or find alternative suitable accommodation.
We are looking to recruit 1.5 wte Homelessness Prevention Officers to work directly with people who rough sleep, have a rough sleeping background or are at risk of rough sleeping. The people appointed should have experience of undertaking homelessness prevention or tenancy support work, working with complex needs individuals and have knowledge of the rehousing options available to homeless households in Calderdale.
You will be required to operate flexibly early mornings, evenings and weekends, in order to undertake verification checks and conduct outreach to individuals sleeping rough across the Calderdale borough. In addition, the service must facilitate statutory monthly late-night counts usually between 10:00pm and 1:00am, as well as an annual count.
The successful applicants must have a full driving licence and use of a car is essential as is a clear enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check.

This role is based in the UK. Home Office guidance states that candidates must evidence their right to work in the UK prior to commencing employment, either as a UK or Irish citizen, under the EU Settlement scheme or having secured any other relevant work visa.
