We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Support Officer to join our team at Derwent Lodge, a 14-bed supported accommodation service for vulnerable adults. Our residents come from a range of backgrounds and may be experiencing challenges including homelessness, mental health issues, addiction, and the effects of trauma.

About the Role

As a Support Officer, you will take the lead in delivering person-centred support, building positive relationships with residents and helping them develop the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to achieve and sustain independent living.

You will assess support needs, create and review tailored support plans, coordinate interventions, and work closely with partner agencies to help residents achieve positive outcomes.

A key focus of the role will be developing tenancy-related skills and supporting residents aged 16 - 25 to successfully maintain their accommodation.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide practical and emotional support to individuals who may have experienced trauma, addiction, or mental health challenges.
  • Encourage residents to identify and work towards personal goals.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to deliver effective support.
As an Ofsted-regulated service, Derwent Lodge is committed to maintaining high standards of safeguarding, support delivery and record keeping, with all staff expected to adhere to these requirements.

  • A positive team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
  • Experienced in housing support, supported accommodation, mental health, substance misuse, or related services (desirable but not essential).
Why Join Us?

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in people's lives. You'll help residents overcome barriers, develop the skills needed for independent living, and achieve the ultimate goal of successful tenancy sustainment and long-term stability within their community.
