We are looking for a passionate and motivated MASH Recovery Coordinator to join our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults by ensuring substance misuse information is effectively integrated into multi-agency decision making.
As the substance misuse specialist within MASH, you will act as a navigator between agencies, providing expert advice, coordinating information sharing and contributing to high-quality risk assessments that help protect some of the most vulnerable members of our community, and will be co-located within the Mash Teams.
Location: Barnet and surrounding areas
Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week
Contract Type: Fixed term ending the 31st of March 2028

Responsibilities
About the role:
Working within a multi-disciplinary safeguarding environment, you will:
- Act as the key substance misuse representative within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).
- Gather, analyse and present relevant substance misuse information to support multi-agency risk assessments and safeguarding decisions.
- Provide professional advice relating to substance misuse, safeguarding and domestic abuse concerns.
- Support service users through assessment, recovery planning and referral pathways.
- Work closely with statutory and voluntary partners, including social care, health services, criminal justice agencies and community organisations.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure information is shared appropriately with partner agencies.
- Contribute to the development of information-sharing protocols and continuous improvement of MASH processes.
- Promote recovery, resilience and positive outcomes for people affected by substance misuse.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Experience working within substance misuse, recovery, safeguarding, health, social care or a related field.
- A strong understanding of drug and alcohol issues and their impact on individuals, families and communities.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures for children and vulnerable adults.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly to a range of professionals.
- Experience of partnership working and multi-agency collaboration.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
