Outreach Worker - Homelessness & Substance Misuse
Location: London - covering all 33 boroughs
Working: Fully remote / community-based
Pay: £18+ per hour Umbrella, depending on substance misuse experience

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm

We are currently recruiting Outreach Workers to support people experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping across London, helping them engage with community drug and alcohol treatment services.
About the role
This is a fully remote and community-based position with no fixed office base.
You will complete your administration and paperwork from home, while the majority of your working day will be spent meeting clients face to face across London and attending multi-agency meetings.

Oyster card provided for work-related travel
You will provide psychosocial and time-limited support to people experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping, helping them overcome barriers and engage with drug and alcohol treatment.

What you'll be doing
- Build relationships with people who may be difficult to engage
- Support clients to access and engage with drug & alcohol treatment services
- Use motivational interviewing, trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches
- Manage a caseload and complete assessments, support plans and reviews
- Complete risk assessments and identify safeguarding concerns
- Meet clients face to face across all 33 London boroughs
- Attend multi-agency meetings and work closely with partner organisations
- Work alongside hostels, homelessness services, outreach teams and community drug & alcohol services
- Provide brief interventions and harm-reduction support
- Complete accurate case notes and administration from home
- Work closely with colleagues and partner agencies to coordinate effective support

- Caseload management
- Motivational interviewing
- Trauma-informed support
