Housing Support and Recovery Worker

Housing Support and Recovery Worker

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: £29,003 - £31,214 - salary dependent on skills, experience and knowledge

Contract: Permanent

Base: Oxfordshire Mind have properties in Oxford, South Oxfordshire and West Oxfordshire, coverage of multiple sites may be required involving travel between locations. Please note that this role will be based in East Oxford.

Join our friendly, creative, and supportive team providing mental health supported housing. We are looking for passionate and motivated individuals who want to help people build independence, improve wellbeing, and achieve their goals.

In this rewarding role, you will support people with mental health needs to maintain their tenancy, develop life skills, access services, and become active members of their community. Every day is different, offering opportunities to make a genuine impact while working alongside a dedicated and experienced team.

  • An understanding of the issues for people with mental health issues living in the community.
  • Knowledge of the housing sector.
  • Experience of working with people with mental health issues.
  • Experience of working in a housing or residential setting.
  • Experience of working with people with multiple support needs such as a history of not engaging with services, non-compliance with medication, substance misuse, self-harm, neglect or challenging behaviour.
  • Experience of working with individuals, enabling them to identify their own goals to support personal wellbeing and recovery, and the ability to support them in pursuing these.
  • The ability to take responsibility for your own work and make yourself accountable.
  • Good team working skills such as listening and constructive feedback.
  • Ability to use your initiative.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work.
  • Competent level of administrative and computer skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge/Understanding of our values
